KTU is the biggest technical university in Lithuania and other neighbouring Baltic countries. The Ultrasound Institute is part of the University. Research and development in the field of ultrasonics started more than 38 years ago. The main activities of the Ultrasound Institute are: research and development, technology transfer, training, consultancy and engineering in the field of non-destructive testing.

The Ultrasound Institute is also involved in many research & development projects in joint ventures with Lithuanian and other European research centres and engineering schools. Since 1995, the Ultrasound Institute has been active in:

  • European INCO-COPERNICUS programme.
  • 8 research projects carried out under contracts with industrial companies in European Union.
  • More than 15 Lithuanian research programmes and projects.
The Ultrasound Institute carries out research in all areas of ultrasonic non-destructive testing, evaluation and measurements.

Role
Contribute to piezoelectric transducer design (WP-B), theoretical modelling of phased array design (WP-C), array out cross correlation analysis and contribution to flaw sizing software (WP-D), assist in the preparation and translation of Technician training course notes (WP-H), Project Management (WP-J).
